The author proceeds from the presence of the elements of identity with similar complexes in other states periodicals, as well as characteristics of a significant difference in the press genre of Spain and Spanish-speaking countries of Latin America. In the study the revealing identity genre of Spanish-language periodicals is based on the search for its historical and cultural origins and the use of comparative approach to genre classifications in the works of the representatives of various research schools, as well as practical genre application.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article presents the characteristics of Spanish-language periodicals genre which helps to identify its originality.
