The paper considers the problem of transformation of the modern festive culture at the value-content level under the influence of universal uplifting festivity; the differences between the concepts "festivity" and "festiveness" are substantiated. Besides, the author provides a tentative way out of the current situation through the revival of traditions, the actualization of existing festivities and the creation of new, sacredly filled ones.
