The article analyzes the research works of Belgorod and Voronezh scientists about the activities of A.K. Dimitriu (1857-1925) in Belgorod and Voronezh. It also studies the official documents on the Kharkov School District (1906-1913), the ODESSA SCHOOL DISTRICT (1895-1897) and Imperial Novorossiysk University (1895-1903) in the context of the vital activity of A.K. Dimitriu and his entourage. The analysis of documents relating to the Odessa School District and the Imperial Novorossiysk University shows that A.K. Dimitriu did not work as a teacher at the Imperial Novorossiysk University, as noted in other studies. Of particular interest is the analysis of photographs and documents from the family archive of A.K. Dimitriu, provided to the author by Professor N.L. Potanina from Tambov together with the comments. The article also notes a need for a special study of the Odessa period to A.K. Dmitriu’s life activities after graduating from the university in order to understand the reasons for the rapid rise of his scientific thought and the publication of two outstanding articles on Byzantine studies in 1894-95.
