In the article the document of 1919, discovered by the author in the State Archives of the Kharkiv region, is published. This document contains, apparently, the autograph of M.B. Maximovich, future Saint John of Shanghai and San Francisco. This document and other information about the life of M.B. Maksimovich before emigration are given in the context of a broader historical and archival genealogical research.
