<strong>Sixty years later: about the book by A. Y. Prokopiev “The Thirty Years' War”</strong>

The Thirty Years' War of 1618-1648, one of the largest military conflicts of early modern times, has long attracted the attention of historians. By now, Western European historiography has developed a strong tradition of studying this important event in European history, which is considered to be a turning point in the history of the continent. At the same time, although the tradition of studying The Thirty Years' War has a fairly long history in Russia, domestic historians turn to it very rarely.  While there were at least a few works devoted to this topic in the Soviet period, the post-Soviet period of development of Russian historiography cannot boast of this. A new book by the St. Petersburg historian A.Yu. Prokopiev fills this unfortunate gap, representing a significant step forward compared to previous domestic studies on this topic. The article discusses the structure of the reviewed work, briefly describes the content, the main provisions and conclusions, obtained by the author of the book in the course of the study of the problem.
