The original texts and translations into Russian of the works of the Italian writer, in particular, made by S.&amp;nbsp;Marshak, are compared. Fragments of an interview with Gianni Rodari are given and the impressions of the Italian writer from his stay in the USSR, his arguments about the peculiarities of childhood in Russia at that time are considered.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The author analyzes the fate of the work of G.&amp;nbsp;Rodari in the USSR.
