The analysis of the women's issue is important for understanding the entire philosophical concept of the thinker; this question appears, it seems, with convincing factual concreteness, in the "Instruction on the refusal of foot-binding." Since the work of Kang Youwei has not yet been fully translated into Russian, here is a full translation made by the author of the article. The cultural-historical commentary clarifies the historical outline of the tradition of foot-binding in imperial China; this tradition, in fact, opposes Kang Yuwei.
