Domestic research on this problem is currently almost non-existent, although fragmentarily with varying degrees of professionalism, the issues of genre characteristics of anime are partially touched upon in Internet encyclopedias, discussed on websites and amateur forums dedicated to anime culture. The work on the basis of the functional and structural-content originality of anime and manga proposes a heterogeneous classification of their genres, taking into account subgenre modifications and the trend towards genre hybridization. The proposed classification can serve as a tool for genre identification as a starting point both for the systematization of empirical material and for the content-semiotic interpretation of these works. A detailed genre classification is also important in the pragmatic aspect, since a clearer genre and subgenre rubrication of anime and manga provides a more accurate choice of the work by the target audience in accordance with its expectations, which undoubtedly contributes to the attractiveness of this phenomenon in mass culture.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Anime and manga as phenomena of mass culture acquire a global character, while the issue of genre classification of this type of animation and literature in comparison with the study of other aspects of mass and geek culture on the Internet is not sufficiently developed.
