The article presents the results of research work on the formation of funds of a personal-generic topographic model of the Bakhtin surname. The methodological principles and conceptual aspects of the information-heuristic approach to the organization of the research process for the systematization of factual material are identified. Particular attention is drawn to the need for a substantial revision of known biographical facts about M.M. Bakhtin&#39;s genealogy in the context of the extended rearchiving of personal sources. An interpretation of previously unknown archival and documentary evidence, published for the first time, is presented.
