Information policy is considered in the context of its analysis of modern environmental challenges. The traditional approaches explaining these challenges by insufficient financial provision of the environmental sphere, weakening of environmental legislation, etc., as well as modern aspects of the emergence of environmental challenges that address a wide range of civilizational issues related to the formation of the specifics of future world development are analyzed. The role of education in solving all these problems is revealed.
