The relevance of the research topic is that the widely known in the West results of Iegor Reznikoff&amp;rsquo;s scientific activity in the field of development of church art in Russian scientific literature have not yet been updated. The authors of the article attempt to draw attention to the figure of the honored scientist, musician and teacher, a descendant of Russian emigrants, to highlight some of the stages of his life and research activities in the field of ancient Christian singing.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article presents the first intermediate results of the research into the biography, scientific activity and creative heritage of the Russian-French musicologist, Professor Iegor Danilovich Reznikoff, who made a significant contribution to the study and popularization of ancient church singing.
