The identification of the teleological and theological nature of the anthropic principle of the Universe in the context of the teachings of the Holy Fathers is supplemented by detailed objections to criticism of this approach. The correspondence discussion of P.G.&amp;nbsp;Makukhin with S.&amp;nbsp;Lem on the issue of an effective strategy for the materialistic interpretation of the anthropic principle is taken for analysis. Based on Orthodox theology, philosophical reasoning and information from scientific sources, responses are given to criticism of the anthropic principle. It is shown that this criticism of the teleological and theological nature of the anthropic principle turns out to be untenable both from the point of view of Orthodox theology and from the point of view of modern science. Firstly, the problematic nature of some basic theses of dialectical materialism in light of fundamental scientific laws is revealed; and secondly, the reasoning of the Holy Fathers about the insufficiency of the conceptual apparatus of secular philosophical and scientific trends for describing the genesis of the Universe is updated.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The subject of the research is a critical discussion about the anthropic principle of the Universe between the representatives of materialistic monism and dialectical materialism on the one hand and the position revealed in the works of the Holy Fathers of the Russian Orthodox Church of the 19th&amp;nbsp;&amp;ndash; early 20th centuries, on the other.
