The appeal to cultural and historical theory is due to the growing interest in developing methodological foundations to compensate for the negative consequences of the active introduction of digitalization and computer technologies into the modern educational reality while conducting empirical research in the humanitarian field. Digitalization and the introduction of new digital educational platforms require an adequate response to the impact on the mental and cognitive health of both the younger generation and humanity as a whole. The article attempts to classify both the problems facing researchers and promising areas of theoretical and practical research.
