Russian spiritual missions in the Far East performed many functions in addition to direct missionary work and were guides of Russian influence in the Far Eastern region. All of them, in China, Korea and Japan, were affected to varying degrees by the war, and the Orthodox mission in Tokyo was most affected. The main approach for the study was the anthropological approach. The study used methods of retrospection and historical reconstruction, as well as microanalysis. The prosopographic method was partly used. This choice of methodology is due to the fact that the main source for the study was the &amp;quot; Most Comprehensive Reports of the Chief Prosecutor...&amp;quot; and the diaries of the head of the mission, Bishop Nikolai (Kasatkin). The result of the study is the reconstruction of the activities of the Tokyo spiritual mission in the conditions of the Russo-Japanese War.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The subject of research in the article is the Russian spiritual mission in Tokyo, which found itself at the epicenter of the events of the Russo-Japanese War.
