There are two vectors of orientation of approaches to the consideration of the phenomena of memory and oblivion – horizontal and vertical, the latter of which directly relates the researcher's attention to the metaphysics of the spirit, and therefore to theological research. The same applies to the types of intuition – intellectual and sensual (metaphysical), where the second one again turns the research gaze to religious grounds. The intersection of the methods of phenomenology, intuitionism and theology is revealed. The hermeneutic method, referred to in the Islamic tradition by the term "at-ta'wil", is used when considering intuitive approaches in both the philosophical and Islamic mystical traditions.
