Using digital technologies in medicine: specifics of responsibility
The introduction of information technologies into healthcare practice changes the forms and methods of interaction between doctors and patients, the procedure for diagnosis and treatment, prevention of diseases and health recovery. Attention is drawn to the emerging digital divide between rich and poor countries, elderly and young users, other segments that have access to information technologies and potential to employ them. The specifics of responsibility in the application of digital technologies are pointed out. There is a tendency to remove responsibility for the patient's health from the institute of health care, for decisions made regarding methods of treatment and diagnostics, and transfer responsibility to an individual.
