Childhood as an object of interdisciplinary research
The article focuses on the epistemological problems encountered in the 20th century by researchers of childhood as a special cultural and psychological phenomenon. The peculiarity of childhood as an object of knowledge in different disciplinary and national scientific traditions, as well as the variability of childhood as a cultural and historical phenomenon are analyzed. The concepts of "childhood" and "childish" are defined as not identical. Consideration of various cognitive strategies in the experience of childhood research leads to the conclusion about the advantages of an interdisciplinary approach as providing a more complete and versatile understanding of childhood.
