National societies and transnationalism: the container model of society as a new conceptual approach
In the past few decades, in the transnational, migration and ideological studies, the concepts of "container", "national container", "container model of society" (CMS) have often been used to describe the structuring of modern society. The purpose of this paper is to determine, first, what role does the CMS play in modern research literature; second, where did the need to use the concept come from; third, how is the CMS constructed, is only the society of citizens living in a nation-state subject to containerization processes, or migrants can also form their own "container". The author concludes that CMS is able to act as a concept for the study of dichotomous processes between transnationalism and neo-nationalism, as well as for the study of the processes of spontaneous construction of boundaries within society.
