Information Reality and the Network World:
Conceptualizing the Boundary
The article offers an analytical review of the main terminological structures and a consolidated description of the information reality as a certain conceptual metaphor of the life-network-world or of a person in modern society. It is argued that the polemical incompleteness of this metaphor can be presented as an uncertain practice of denying ideological mythogenesis, a scientifically specific overcoming of the desire for the technological myth of the thinking machine, which gave rise to the ideology of justifying the dominance of information. The work examines some transformations of stereotypical judgments in this field and points to their awareness as a certain cognitively accessible horizon of information reality. As the study shows, this reality, which takes different terminological forms ("network"), turns out to be a categorical measure, a boundary condition for the possibility of social ontology, rather than an autonomous or objective reality "in itself".
