Russian thinkers in the letters of N.N. Strakhov to Y.N. Govorukha-Otrok
(a systematic review)
The article offers an analytical review of N.N. Strakhov's letters addressed to Yu.N. Govorukha-Otrok. The texts were discovered through archival work with the manuscript legacy of N.N. Strakhov and Yu.N. Govorukha-Otrok. The collection of Strakhov's letters, while Govorukha-Otrok's reply letters are unknown, allows us to clarify a certain dialogical minimum of the philosopher's ideas about his contemporaries: N.Ya. Grote, G.E. Struve, A.A. Kozlov, S.N. Trubetskoy, K.N. Leontyev, V.V. Rozanov, V.S. Soloviev. It is shown that the attitudes of "understanding" philosophical communication which were supposedly shared by N.N. Strakhov and Yu.N. Govorukha-Otrok, presupposed semantic reciprocity. It was established that a characteristic feature of the texts under study is their high emotional intensity. The letters analyzed in this article could well serve as a source for new reconstructions of 19th-century Russian intellectual history.
